Last lessons of the month. October's almost over!

After some post-work stationery retail therapy I think I'll do some redecorating.

Waiting for a delayed train on my way back to Nagoya. I closed lessons this weekend to go to a Kanjani concert, take some HIMYM purikura, and stay at my grandmother's.

Today seemed to be a day for canceling lessons so I took advantage of that and closed everything that was open. Not making much money at all, but sometimes taking it easy is more than worth it.

It's been a busy few days in the family and I'm grateful to not be at work where I have to put on my work face and then overthink it during my down time.

Got three lessons tonight then two tomorrow morning, but with no breaks, so this is good. Then my regular days off start so I can take care life so I can start living it.

After a few days of rest and almost involuntarily passing out when I got back yesterday resulting in about 10 hours of sleep, I feel pretty good this morning.

Sleep is good.

This week is a bit of a short one, work-wise. Today's a full day but tomorrow's a half day then it's off to a K8 con in Shiz. For reasons too long to mention, I took a long amount of time off so I'm dropping by my grandmother's too. Then back to work Monday afternoon.

Before I sleepily went home after morning curry, I dropped by Tsutaya to pick up some movies to watch at my grandmother's. With the current campaign, it was cheaper to get 4 (1000yen) than 3 (1050yen).

My four titles for the week are:
-Ghost in the Shell (the 1995 film, been meaning to watch this for years and I just finished the first S.A.C. series, which was awesome, so I figured I should see the first film)
-Ironman (somehow missed this one when I came out)
-Ironman 2 (see above)
-Lilo and Stich 2 (just because)

I hate cold sores...

Then again, who likes them?

Just when I was relieved I was over my cold, I got that tingling in my lip yesterday that made me dig out some medication that kept my last one at bay.

Thanks to the medicine, this one isn't too bad either. It doesn't stand out and already feels like it's on its way out and.

Took a pic for future reference just in case I need more and can't remember the name. I was surprised at how small it is, but it works, so no complaints.

Alrighties, off to grandmother's house I go. Rockin' some rainboots and a jacket, but the rain kinda stopped... Oh well, still rockin it.

Morning Adventures: CoCo Ichi - Morning Curry (Sausage) 490yen

CocoIchi's got morning curry. I knew about it but hadn't tried it until last week. Veggie curry, 150 grams of rice, salad, a drink, and I got the sausage topping. All for 490yen. Yummers. And seriously just right for the morning.

Also this CoCoIchi has outlets for charging and will even lend out chargers. It's also a 24-hour store. Awesome.

Only unfortunate thing is this store doesn't offer as many drinks with the morning curry as the Sunroad store. I had a mango lassi on Friday. :)

It's cold.

I should have probably grabbed a thicker jacket. And maybe some gloves.

I can't believe Taichi got bitten by a mosquito two days ago. I hope he at least isn't wearing the flip-flops anymore.

It's getting cold...

Before it was just chilly, but now it's creeping into the cold range. I hope autumn sticks around for a little longer though.

Lots to say, but I'll leave it for later.

I'm finally reading this gyoza book that I bought last month. As a "Gyoza 101" book, it has recipes, tips, restaurants and even includes a short history of gyoza.

I've already used some of the methods and they totally work.

The next step is make your own skins, but I have an inability to roll out circles. Pre-made skins for me.

Though I may try to make my own chili oil.

This book is also making me want to go on a gyoza trip. Try the famous places in Tokyo, then make my way up to the holy land of gyoza, Utsunomiya. Of course I'll neet to visit different stores in Hama as well.

I'll even make a gyoza blog to document my gyoza adventures, both in the kitchen and at gyoza places across the county.

Got it in the mail yesterday and watched it today.

Over 40 minutes of the guys on a boat in the middle of Tokyo Bay in the middle of the night, eating, drinking and babbling on and on and on.

It was truly awesome. TOKIO at their finest. I'm not writing any more because I can't even begin to describe the awesomeness of this DVD from a fan's perspective.

Morning glories

When waking up at 7am is sleeping in

And going back to sleep until 9-10am is a luxury of a day off, welcome to my world.

Granted, it's a world that I decided on, but that doesn't change how nice it feels to take forever to wake up while the world is starting its day.

Thai for lunch♪

Green curry. Yummers.

Three more, then it's the weekend!

Or, at least *my* weekend.

Biggest task: Clean my room.

From the end of September, around the TOKIO concert, I've been going non-stop and the state of my room shows it.

I'm debating my day after work today. Probably just go back to the house, start the laundry and make some soup. Ooh, and translate. And color.

♪Monday, Monday♪

♪Can't trust that day♪

It's getting darker. It's still light when I leave the house, but when I wake up, it's dark. Not DARK! just yet, but dark enough.

The cold has subsided to a cough. I'm hesitant to say I'm better simply because the last cold I had ended with a cough that lasted for weeks.

Just gotta be careful.

Gorgeous day

And I feel like blah. My leaky faucet nose has subsided to a dribble, but now the cough is creeping up on me.

There's a Halloween party at work, but getting rid of this cold is my first priority. Gotta remind myself of this so noone cons me into going.

Back to the daily grind

Along with a case of the sniffles. Damn.

The sudden drop in temperature has gotten to me. Though hopefully this means pretty leaves.

Crossing my fingers for the beginning of next month since I'm off to Kyoto again.

Back to Nagoya

After 3 packed days in Tokyo with Samancha, I spent 3 slow, relaxed days at my grandmother's and it was awesome.

Now I'm just waiting for the train to head back to Nagoya.

I was going to head back earlier, but there was a Masha interview on TV. I can't say no to that voice.

TD2012: The Aftermath

Reception was bad in the park, so I couldn't really blog, so here are 5 pics from the past two days. I'll post more pics and stuff later.

TD2012: Morning and Nagoya station

Got to the station early enough to catch an earlier Shink, but I really wanted to try the morning at a cafe I saw when I was here early in the morning for my 24 hour TOKIO trip. I gave into guilty pleasures on that trip and had McD's and saw the cafe after filling my tummy with hash brown greasy goodness.

I think I've found a personal Meieki morning fave. It's a bit out of the way, so it's not as crowded as the cafes in the station itself. They have a wall of coffee cups, so I assume I'd get a different cup each time. The coffee's on the expensive side at 450yen, but the morning set of half a slice of toast, a boiled egg, and some yogurt with blueberry sauce and a slice of mandarin orange is free.

And everything was practically perfect. The light golden brown of the toast with just the right amount of butter. The cold, yet perfectly boiled egg. The balance of the plain yogurt and sweet blueberry and mandarin.

Oh yeah, and the coffee was pretty good too.

Totally plain in every way and in no way a hearty meal, but just right for when you know you need to eat.

Alrighties, Shink's about to leave.

TD2012: And we're off!

Or at least I am.

Headed to Hama to meet up with Samancha and then we're headed to Tokyo!

But first, I need to get some breakfast.

Friday, October 5, 2012

To work!

Just 3 in the morning then a workshop then home to pack for the weekend!

Tuesday, October 2, 2012

Another day, another morning

And a gorgeous one at that.

DARK! is coming. And to be honest, I'm a bit excited.

A short day today. Then stationery! Then sleep! Or just sleep.
