At the theater-After thoughts (SPOILERS): The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

That was fun on such a big screen.

The elves spoke at regular speed rather than etheral and kinda eerie, so that was cool. Loved the Legolas Gimli mention. Gandalf was kick-ass as always. Stephen Fry was pretty awesome. And Martin Freeman played Bilbo brilliantly.

As for slight disappointments, for what I assume is a huge FX budget, you'd think they'd do a better job on the water in the river scene. Also, I was hoping to hear the Misty Mountains song again.

And in regular LotR movie form, it was almost 3 hours, with stuff taken out, other stuff put in, and heavy on the Sauron, but in the end, Smaug made it all worth it. He was so pretty. And of course, that voice. :)
