At the Theater: Jurassic World - After thoughts

I found that highly entertaining. Yes, less reliance on CGs would have been cetter and that romance subplot was quite unnecessary and any music that wasn't John Williams was unmemorable and almost annoying.

But despite that, it was really entertaining.

I was genuinely reacting and all that to all the stuff. And I loved all of the homages to the first movie. (There may have been some to the second and third, but I don't remember them well enough.)

And do they have my money for the next two? Of course. :)

Now roaming Tokyu Hands to pick up a few things then to Sake to pick up more things. (The pic is entitled "A Mel in her natural habitat")

At the Theater: Jurassic World

I'm so glad they're still showing this. I had a pre-sale ticket and everything and time got away from me in August and I was in England for the first half of September and working all the third week of September.

Hollywood films don't last very long in the theaters here, so I was worried my 1,400yen would go to waste, but luck was on my side.

And seeing as this is Jurassic World i.e. Chris Pratt and velociraptors, I have deemed it a coke and popcorn movie, allowing a temporary lift on my self-imposed ban on sodas. Whee!

Tuesday soreness update, stairs cause discomfort in my hips and thighs and my abs are a bit sore. Good stuff.

Monday, Monday

Woke up a tad late to plan an upcoming trip, then Skyped with my mom, then rushed to get ready for training. Had another awesome session and walked my tired legs to Meieki and reserved my copy of TOKIO's new single and picked up a few things while I was there. Will post pic later.

Now to get back, refresh, and head to the Komeda to work on volunteer stuff because if I don't lock myself to a wi-fi-less desk, I will not bother... I need to find a replacement sooner or later.

Anyways, hoping for/dreading tomorrow's soreness. Starting to get addicted to it. Whee!

Treating myself

I've gone ahead and picked up a set of fancy shampoo and conditioner. Not that I usually buy the cheapest stuff, but I don't get the expensive stuff either.

But after three perms, I figure I should give my hair a bit more love. And by that I mean more natural ingredients and less chemicals that I wouldn't understand even if they were written in English. I considered LUSH, but the staff at the two Nagoya stores I know are way too aggressive for my taste.

The fancy schmancy John Masters Organics shop near work had been catching my eye for a while and I dropped by after my shift today. The staff looked at my scalp (dry and slightly irritated) and hair (Even permed, she said it was quite healthy. Yay!) and suggested a shampoo conditioner pairing for me. And they smell so good!

It's still a while until my next hair salon visit when I can ask my stylist for advice, so I decided to put money on the table.

Another major plus is the service matches the price. Not overly agressive, but still quite helpful. At check-out, she even gave me simple instructions for how to wash my hair, which you'd think is obvious, but had some good points. Then she walked me out and handed me my new hair products. I'm the first to admit I'm a sucker for that kind of service. :)

Looking forward to my shower tomorrow morning.

Also, on the post-training soreness front, I can neither go up nor down stairs without wincing. Hurts so good!

Monday is my happy day

Survived two days of work while severely jet-lagged and my reward is a slow morning and first training session post-UK.

It looks I haven't gotten weaker after two weeks of vacation. I even asked my trainer to push me harder and I could keep up (barely).

Then, despite my jelly legs and arms, I decided to walk around Sakae for what ended up being 2 hours. Partly because I needed to pick up a Brita filter, partly because I knew I'd just pass out if I went straight home.

My thighs were already sore and now my feet hurt. Oops.

Just need to pick up a few more things at the drug store and supermarket and I can get ready for the stupid schedule I put in for the rest of the week.

The next month or so is all about keeping up. Then I'm changing up my work schedule to give me more me time. I'm already working less than most, but with the non-work responsibilities, me time is recovery time. I feel like every day is just keeping my head above water. It's not cool.

Time to take advantage of the freedom of schedule my job gives me.

Time to be better to myself.

Back to the daily grind

First day back and it's a full day. My hair looks nice and I'm slightly bitter it's for a work day.

Worried about my jetlag and my current English teaching ability. I just spent two weeks with one of the few people in the world who can understand me without me using full sentences or even words sometimes. Need to rewire my brain a bit.

I'll make it through, but it's going to be a long day.

Here we go.

Back to reality

But first, back to the house.

It's been a long day. And it's raining.

Might visit the bath house here before taking off.

I'm leaving on a jet plane

Ran into a coworker who is on both of my flights. Coincidence!

Alrighties, this will be the last keitai post for a while. Will try to post from Helsinki if there is time. If not, next post will be fron England. Whee!

See you on the flip side.

And I'm off!

Managed to pack, hopefully not forgetting anything, and now I'm headed to the airport.

England, here I come!

And now, back to Nagoya

To pack!

Had a lovely lunch with an old friend and now begins the trek back to Nagoya.

Completely opposite of yesterday, it's beautiful blue skies today.

My brain is in for a treat. So many types of weather in so little time.

Got back

Actually got back about an hour ago. Watched TV and helped my grandmother with a computer thing.

The local train started up again and I got back safe and sound. Good stuff.

Alternative measures

The local trains are still at a standstill from Hama.

They are only delayed from Toyohashi to the station I need to get to.

The Shink is still running.

Instead of waiting or taking an insanely expensive taxi, I'm taking the Shink to Toyohashi, then the local train, however delayed. If I can get to the closest JR station, even if the super local train isn't running, though it should be, the taxi ride won't cost more than my perm. Which is looking pretty good. My stylist is awesome.

The Rain...

So I just got my hair done.

But you can't really tell because there is a torrential downpour that might prevent me from getting back to my grandmother's.

Good news: looks like the perm took this time.

For now, the train will get me to Hama and I need to pick up a few things there, so hopefully the train will be running again after dinner.

Last resort is a taxi.

Never a dull moment.
